PLA 2014

Last week’s 2014 Public Library Association Conference in Indianapolis invited Spectrum Scholars and alum to cover highlighted workshops and programs. As a selection for this coverage, I had the great opportunity to network, and observe larger conversations brewing across the country about the future of public librarianship, best practices, concerns, and challenges ahead welcomed with strategic planning.

It was pleasant to see how many public librarians congregated to share ideas of how to improve youth programming; technology collections; digital literacy for adults, children, and librarians; building and space renovations; and partnerships with local economic stakeholders.

Each scholar invited posted a blog reviewing a select program from last week’s conference. http://publiclibrariesonline.org/2014/03/dispatches-from-pla-2014-tools-for-winning-at-the-ballot-box/
