Tap In Leadership Academy took scholars from Edison and Franklin Middle School on a field trip to Curtis Orchard. During the trip the scholars got an opportunity to go to a petting zoo, were they were able to interact with donkeys and goats. There were also a couple of friendly cats that were open to being petted by the scholars.

During the trip to Curtis Orchard the scholars were also asked to pick apples and pumpkins. The apples and pumpkins were both used in the following weeks for activities. The apples were used to make apple sauce in an effort to teach the scholars how to make food for them-selves. The pumpkins were used to carve into decorative figures in order to celebrate the fall holidays.

The trip to Curtis Orchard was ended with a snack that consisted of Curtis Orchard’s Apple Cider and an apple donut. The students had a great time at Curtis Orchard, and are looking forward to their next field trip.
